Eleanor Ward
MakerMother, Maker, ex Fashion Buyer. I believe creating things with your hands taps into the very basis of what it means to be human. For me anyway. Creating isn’t a hobby, it’s a necessity. I am a jewellery maker and sewist.
What influence does music have in your life as a creative?:
it doesn’t just play a role, it underpins everything! My partner is a musician (he features on my playlist :)) and he’s never without his guitar in his hands, every day is sprinkled with new writing and old songs revisited. Our son is equally as music orientated. As for me, there isn’t a single day that goes by without a Bob Dylan song, he’s always there, a part of my consciousness. They say that you either ‘don’t get’ Bob, or his music spears you directly in the heart and never leaves. I’m the latter.
Tell us about your playlist:
A small collection of some of my favourite songs – I love a vocal based track to sing along to while sewing / making. Some Bob (naturally), Laura Marling (a very close 2nd to Bob), some Joni and Fionn and all the others in between that have meant something to me at one point or another in my life.
